Dancehouse Lefkosia in collaboration with Dance Gate Lefkosia have produced the 8th No_body Dance/Movement & Performance Arts Festival, which took place on the Saturday and Sunday 19th-20thof November 2016 at the Dancehouse Lefkosia at 7.30 pm
The festival was under the auspices of the Mayor of the Municipality of Nicosia in co-operation with the Municipality of Nicosia and supported by the Cultural Services of the Ministry of Education and Culture.
The 8th No body Festival included the participation of nine choreographers / dancers and their groups both local and international.
These include Ioannis Mandafounis from Switzerland with the support of the Swiss Arts Council/ Pro Helvetia and Athanasia Kanellopoulou from Greece. Also, Pascal Caron and Melissa Garcia Carro, Georgia Andreou, Elly Constantinou (of this year’s Artists in Progress programme of Dancehouse Lefkosia), Melissa Garcia Carro with a new work and Milena Ugren with George Koulas (musician). Furthermore, Maria Kamberis participates with the seminar/workshop ‘Εν Φαντασία’, which address to pre-primary teachers.
As a Pancyprian Dance & Performance Arts Festival we were particularly happy and proud to have for the second year the participation of the Turkish Cypriot Artist Sevim Akpinar and her team, further establishing the Dancehouse Lefkosia links to Turkish Cypriot Artists strengthening all possibilities for communication, collaboration and exchange among all artists on the island, to share research and ideas for a creative future together.
