Με μεγάλη χαρά το Dance Gate   ανακοινώνει το 6^ο Φεστιβάλ Χορού & Παραστατικών Τεχνών  NO_ BODY στα πλαίσια του  PEDIAIOS DANCE FESTIVAL στις 6-8 Δεκεμβρίου 2014 στη Στέγη Χορού Λευκωσίας, Άγιος Αντρέας , Λευκωσία.

Dance  Gate was happy to  announce the 6^th No_ Body : Dance & Performance Arts Festival in the context of the PEDIAIOS DANCE FESTIVAL 6^th – 8 th December 2014 at the DANCEHOUSE LEFKOSIA, Ayios Andreas , Nicosia.

ΛΙΓΑ ΛΟΓΙΑ ΓΙΑ ΤΟ NO- BODY FESTIVAL

To φεστιβάλ no body μπαίνει στον έκτο του χρόνο το 2014. Όταν ξεκίνησε το 2009 καμιά πλατφόρμα σύγχρονου χορού και παραστατικών τεχνών δεν υπήρχε στη Λευκωσία. Το φεστιβάλ κατάφερε μέσα από όρους, κανονισμούς και προϋποθέσεις να φέρει σε συνεργασία καλλιτέχνες από το χορογραφικό πεδίο, το θέατρο, τα εικαστικά, τη μουσική, την αρχιτεκτονική, τη λογοτεχνία και τον κινηματογράφο. Ο χορογράφος είχε υποχρέωση να συνεργαστεί με άλλους  καλλιτέχνες στα ρευστά  σύνορα των παραστατικών  για ενδυνάμωση του χορογραφικού πεδίου και επαναπροσδιορισμό του. . Πέραν των παραστάσεων, στις παράλληλες εκδηλώσεις συμμετείχαν καλλιτέχνες με έρευνες, εργαστήρια, σεμινάρια, διαλέξεις, παρουσιάσεις κλπ.

Διεθνής/ και Τοπική  συμμετοχή στο Φεστιβάλ

Επίσης στο φεστιβάλ υπήρχε συμμετοχή καλλιτεχνών διεθνούς εμβέλειας από Ελλάδα, Αγγλία, Ολλανδία, Τσεχία, Γερμανία, Βραζιλία κ.α. δίνοντας στο φεστιβάλ τη δυνατότητα επικοινωνίας με τη διεθνή καλλιτεχνική κοινότητα και διεθνούς αναγνώρισης του.  Σε αυτό βοηθησε και η συμμετοχή του οργανισμού στο Ευρωπαικό Πρόγραμμα  Modul –Dance

Η διοργάνωση του no body από το Dance Gate είχε από το πρώτο έτος μεγάλη επιτυχία σε αιτήσεις συμμετοχής. Στα 5 φεστιβάλ αιτήθηκαν συμμετοχής το 2009 15 ομάδες καλλιτεχνών, το 2010 15 ομάδες, το 2011 20 ομάδες, το 2012 20 ομάδες και το 2013 27 ομάδες  και  για το φετεινό 25 ομάδες παρόλο τα πολύ χαμηλά κονδύλια για συμμετοχές και διοργάνωση.! Δηλαδή ένας αριθμός αιτήσεων συμμετοχής σχεδόν 100 καλλιτεχνικών ομάδων από όλη τη Κύπρο! Η πλατφόρμα αυτή

Προσφέρει , την ευκαιρία σε 70 ομάδες από 300 καλλιτέχνες να συμμετέχουν με παραστάσεις και άλλους τρόπους σ αυτή τη πλατφόρμα. Δημιουργήθηκε παραγωγή 50 πρωτότυπων έργων σε παραστάσεις. Η προσέλευση του κοινού στο φεστιβάλ υπήρξε μέχρι στιγμής  αθρόα και μαζική, γεγονός αδιαμφισβήτητο, που ίσως κανένα άλλο φεστιβάλ χορού και παραστατικών τεχνών τέτοιας μορφής δεν είχε αυτή την επιτυχία  στη πόλη μέχρι σήμερα..

ΚΑΛΛΙΤΕΧΝΙΚΟ ΣΤΙΓΜΑ ΦΕΣΤΙΒΑΛ ΝΟ BODY / ΔΙΕΘΝΗΣ  ΕΜΒΕΛΕΙΑ

Είναι φανερό ότι το no body είναι ένας μεγάλος καλλιτεχνικός θεσμός που αποτελεί καλλιτεχνικό και πνευματικό δημιούργημα του Dance Gate και σήμερα είναι το μοναδικό φεστιβάλ στο είδος του που πραγματοποιείται στη πρωτεύουσα του τόπου μας.

Είμαστε περήφανοι γιατί το φεστιβάλ έχει αναγνωρισθεί ταυτόχρονα τόσο από την καλλιτεχνική κοινότητα όσο κι από το κοινό αλλά και από το εξωτερικό, όπου παίρνουμε δεκάδες αιτήσεις για συμμετοχή απο εταίρους μας στο ευρωπαικό πρόγραμμα των Ευρωπαικών Κέντρων Χορου  (  EDN)   Το φεστιβάλ αναμφίβολα θα μπορούσε εάν υπήρχαν τα ανάλογα κρατικά κονδύλια να καταστεί ένα Παγκύπριο αλλά και συνάμα Πανευρωπαικό Φεστιβάλ με προσφορά ανταλλαγών με σύμπραξη στη δημιουργία νέου έργου μεταξύ Ευρωπαίων και Κύπριων καλλιτεχνών από το χορό, μουσική, εικαστικά και περφόρμανς. Με παραπλήσια εργαστήρια και διαλέξεις και παρουσιάσεις

Movement & Performance Arts Festival (21 – 23 November 2015, Dancehouse Lefkosia) which was under the auspices of the Mayor of Nicosia, Constantinos Yiorkadjis.

The 7th No_ Body was organized by Dance Gate Lefkosia and co organized by Dancehouse Lefkosia. It included new works by 7 Cyprus dance & performance artists and a performance from Portuguese artist Mafalda Deville. The programme included artists: Konstantina Skalionta (cheoreographer) and Dyphaine Deluap (performer)/ Panayiotis Tofi (choreographer) and George Kolias (voice recordings)/ Eva Korae (visual artist- performer) and Constantina Peter (Dramaturge) in collaboration with Eleana Alexandrou/ Nektarios Rodosthenous (musician) in collaboration with Vicky Kalla (performer) and Lea Maleni (Dramaturg)/ Aneesha Michael (choreographer) and Dimitris Spyrou (musician)/ Athina Georgiou (choreographer) in collaboration with Marios Konstantinou (performer), Elli Konstantinou (performer) and Anna Tsiarta (video). Also, the festival includes the works of the T/C choreographer and dancers Sevim Akpinar and Toya Akpinar. Mafalda Deville led a workshop on Monday morning, 23rd of November at the Dancehouse Lefkosia (10 – 13 hours).

 
We would like to add that it is the first time that Turkish Cypriot choreographers of contemporary dance participate in such a platform of dance and performing arts. This participation is very important not only for the festival but generally for the performing arts, especially contemporary dance in Cyprus and this particular participation of Sevim Akpinar is adding to the contemporary and innovative spirit of the festival. This participation strengthens the possibilities for communication, cooperation and exchange of ideas and experiences between all the artists on the island and provides the basis for coexistence for a common creative artistic future in Cyprus.

Finally, Mafalda Deville, an important artist of contemporary dance from Portugal, participated also at the parallel events with a 3-hour workshop (Monday, 23rd November, 10:00-13:00).

Dancehouse Lefkosia in collaboration with Dance Gate Lefkosia have produced the 8th No_body Dance/Movement & Performance Arts Festival, which took place on the Saturday and Sunday  19^th-20^thof November 2016 at the Dancehouse Lefkosia at 7.30 pm

The festival was under the auspices of the Mayor of the Municipality of Nicosia in co-operation with the Municipality of Nicosia and supported by the Cultural Services of the Ministry of Education and Culture.

The 8^th No body Festival included the participation of nine choreographers / dancers and their groups both local and international.

These include Ioannis Mandafounis from Switzerland with the support of the Swiss Arts Council/ Pro Helvetia and Athanasia Kanellopoulou from Greece. Also, Pascal Caron and Melissa Garcia Carro, Georgia Andreou, Elly Constantinou (of this year’s Artists in Progress programme of Dancehouse Lefkosia), Melissa Garcia Carro with a new work and Milena Ugren with George Koulas (musician). Furthermore, Maria Kamberis participates with the seminar/workshop ‘Εν Φαντασία’, which address to pre-primary teachers.

As a Pancyprian Dance & Performance Arts Festival we were particularly happy and proud to have for the second year the participation of the Turkish Cypriot Artist Sevim Akpinar and her team, further establishing the Dancehouse Lefkosia links to Turkish Cypriot Artists strengthening all possibilities for communication, collaboration and exchange among all artists on the island, to share research and ideas for a creative future together.

European Dancehouse Network Atelier Cyprus

AKAMAS: NATURE EMBODIED

20- 23 April 2017

Performances, sharings and discussions with local and invited artists from the member Dance Houses of the European Dance House Network (EDN) to research ecological art methodologies as they pertain to a particular contested site in order to generate new artistic and ecological resonances.

The shared work will take many forms and might include photographic documentation and readings of reflective writing as well as discussions and sharing around eco art practice and creative methodologies as they relate to this site and to the participating artists’ own practices and future work. The sharing will happen primarily at the site of exploration and experimentation.

The European Dancehouse Network  (EDN ) ATELIER 20 – 23, is a collaboration of Dance Gate & the Akamas Project of the European Capital of Culture Pafos 2017. The performances taking place during the EDN ATELIER are part of the SITES EMBODIED CYPRUS FESTIVAL (14- 23 April) organized by Dance Gate Lefkosia Cyprus in the framework of the Cultural Decentralization Programme 2017 of the Cultural Services of the Ministry of Education & Culture in collaboration with the Communities of Droushia and Androlikou.

The natural environment –as a vital space for survival, for man’s spiritual development and creation– is an inextricable part of culture. Therefore, the European Capital of Culture, Pafos 2017 has included in its programme the natural environment of a particularly beautiful area of Cyprus, that of the Akamas peninsula, setting the basis for the promotion and protection of the environmental and cultural value of this natural area and the sustainable development of the communities of Akamas.
